Review : Iftaar Party 2013 - Misconceptions about Islam.

Introduction:

GPRF Auditorium

Islam is the fastest growing religion of the world but unfortunately it is enveloped with a lot of misconceptions. Islam is not a new religion, not a new set of people and tradition. It has been there since always and will be there until the end of time!

Today, the world is enslaved by the West, we call it “The Wild West”! Everything that the West propagates is true and people tend to blindly follow it, in terms of lifestyle, culture, food, religion, fashion and corruption.

Because Islam inevitably clashes with the dominant West and its extremism, there has developed a misconception about it among the ignorant masses.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of every Muslim to clear misconception about the Divine religion of Islam bestowed upon the entire mankind. GPRF took this opportunity in the blessed month of Ramadaan and organized a public talk on the topic “Misconceptions about Islam” in its very own auditorium. The talk was followed by a delicious Iftar Party for its Muslim and Non-Muslim audience alike.

Seminar Setting:

The seminar was hosted by Aijaz Ahmed and took place in a well-equipped auditorium. The footfall amounted to over 200 people approximately from all walks of life including students, professors, businessmen, senior citizens, and professionals – making the auditorium jam-packed.

The inaugural speech was given by the host, and the main speaker included the very founder of GPRF, Brother Iftikhar Islam. The speaker, well furnished in his field, enthralled the audience with practical experiences, day to day issues and remedies from the Glorious Qur’an and Prophetic traditions.

The feedback further confirmed the success of the seminar.

Aims & Objectives:

The seminar was structured in such a way so as to make the attendees aware about the different misconceptions falsely spread about Islam. The topics were divided into five slots, four of which concerning misconceptions and false propaganda. The fifth slot focused on an interactive Q&A session.

The audience was connected to the speaker through the speaker’s lecture, which generated public participation. The audience felt attached to the speaker as well as his words. This helped in forming a symbiotic understanding between the two.

Issues addressed:

Terrorism and Jihad, Oppression of Women, Justice and Equality, Is Islam spread by sword, etc.

Closing Session:

The closing session enthralled the audience when the speaker left the forum open for them to ask questions. Brother Iftikhar Islam handled the entire Q&A session and answered challenging questions, mostly related of social issues prevailing today.

Many other issues also got cleared in this session regarding women’s status, killing of animals, prevailing of different sects in the followers of Islam and other Islamic issues.

Alhamdulillah, GPRF successfully concluded the first program in its very own auditorium. The Program was a grand success (with the help of Allah alone). We pray Allah to get support from the people of Belgaum and give us enough strength to convey the message of Islam effectively.

Iftikhar Islam has delivered his presentation effectively, may Allah give him enough knowledge and take the work of Islam from him and may Allah reward him immensely.

Insha Allah, GPRF is looking forward to organize more programs alike and also invite senior Scholars and Da’ees of Islam to conduct seminars on Islam and Comparative Religions.
